(I I made aliyah nearly two months ago and I am studying architecture in Betzalel Oman (the new chareidi branch.) I chose these studies because it offers me an opportunity to join a stable profession, and I seem to be reasonably good at it. However this decision bothers me every day because I feel completely trapped. I need to be doing something more meaningful, something that is actively making the world better. I have essentially resigned myself to the field for two really terrible reasons: 1) I don't know what else to do 2) money. It really really really bothers me. Last Thursday night I very irresponsibly ditched all my homework and did mishmeret erev in mada for the first time since school started, and I felt instant relief and really so much happier even as I unsuccessfully did hechiah for over an hour. What should I do? Should I quit school in the hopes that instead of a job, I will have a mission? IIa) This part pertains to both me and to my future husband. We decided we wanted to get married in the summer. My parents were surprised because they didn't extensively research the shidduch before hand, and his parents were surprised because they think he is too young to get married. So our engagement was pushed off and this was a source of real pain for both of us. But when we did finally get engaged a month ago, it emerged that his parents are unwilling for us to get married before lag baomer. I consulted my Rav and he said it looks like we have to wait it out. This poses an unsurmountable challenge for us. IIb) I know I have to keep halacha. I know that Torah is emes and that I am lucky to be part of the unit that Hashem chose to keep the mitzvos. At some point we concl
