Dear Rabbi Cherlow,
I am in charge of giving a Dvar Tora in our synagogue between Mincha und Maariv of the first day of Pessach.
I chose to speak about the "Kitniot issue" on which oppinions differ. As I heard today on the Shabbat table, the Rabbanei Tzohar permit to eat Kitniot to the Ashkensaim. Unfortunately I couldn't find the source where it was written. What is exactly the opinion of Rabbanei Tzohar? And who was it permitted for?
I thank you very much for the informations which will help me to discourse on that subject.

א. באופן כללי, אין עמדות הלכתיות של רבני צהר כקבוצה. אנחנו לא מפרסמים פסקי הלכה.
ב. ככל הידוע לי, רוב מוחלט של רבני צהר אינו מתיר קטניות. זו גזירה עתיקת יומין, ואין מתירים אותה. כאשר יש מקרים מיוחדים, כמו זוגות מעורבים וכדו', יש להקל קולות רבות, בשל חולשתה של גזירת קטניות, אולם היתר כללי – אין.
ג. אני חושב שזו צריכה להיות המדיניות העקרונית – לא להתיר באופן גורף, אוללולהתייחס בקולות מסוימות כאשר יש סיבות לכך.
