Am I allowed to use a bamboo shade (its primary use is covering a window for the shade) as "sechach"?
I don't live in Israel and it's difficult for me to find a better/regular "sechach" for my Sukkah.

אם זה יוצר מלכתחילה לעשיית צל - הדבר מותר.
אם זה יוצר כדי להיות מחצלת וכדו' - אסור.
