שאלה

Dear Rabbi Retig*

I live in France, Paris. After having a long relationship with a non-jewish girl, we decided to get married. I wanted her to become jewish but she refused. My parents don't want me to marry her because my children will be considered non-jewish and I am very confused. Why is so important to marry a jewish girl? Is it so necessary?

please answer me as soon as possible

thank you

Dan.S.

תשובה

hallo
the jewish nation is an ancient one* and we got a mission from g-o-d.
G-o-d wants us to be a nation of cohanim' and a holly nation.
the assimilation is bad for the god's say in the world. If we believe in our nation and our religion *we have to understand that we can''t just marry a non jewish woman and live like a non jewish family.
I realize that a lot of young persons are getting married with non jewish and the proccess is worse than loosing your nation in wor.
I think that you have to think well about the type of life you want to live and decide what to do* good luck.
